City of Sheridan Public Works Director Lane Thompson The City of Sheridan will be holding two upcoming public meetings to garner public feedback on the option to allow Accessory Dwelling Units in areas of the City zoned R-1 Residential. City to Hold Two Public Meetings on Accessory Dwelling Units An accessory dwelling unit, or ADU, is defined as a residential living unit that is detached from a single-family dwelling that provides independent living facilities for one or more persons, which include a separate entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping facilities, located on the same lot as the primary single-family residence. ADU’s  are also sometimes referred to as Granny Flats, Mother-in-Law Apartments, carriage houses, or guest houses. The City is seeking public input on possibly allowing ADU’s on property zoned R-1 Residential and will hold two public meetings over the next week, the first being Thursday at 5:30 pm at the Roc
