Three men have been charged with immigration offences today (25th May 2021) following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
Jean-Pierre Labelle, 44-years-old, of Ashey Road, Isle of Wight was charged with two counts of assisting unlawful immigration to a member state contrary to section 25 of the Immigration Act 1971;
Stephen Redhead, 47-years-old, of High Street, Shanklin, Isle of Wight was charged with one count of assisting unlawful immigration to a member state contrary to section 25 of the Immigration Act 1971;

Three Isle Of Wight Men Charged With Immigration Offences

Three men on the Isle of Wight have been charged with immigration offences today (Thursday) following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
Hampshire Constabulary says the alleged offences relate to two occasions, one where illegal migrants were brought into the UK via a yacht, between 17 and 19 March 2020.
It s alleged another took place between 26 and 27 June 2020, when illegal migrants were said to be brought to the UK via a small boat across the English Channel but were intercepted by French authorities after a joint operation with SEROCU, the National Crime Agency and French authorities.
:: A 27-year-old man from from Tankerton Close in Wymering, Portsmouth.
:: A 22-year-old man from Hedge End Walk in West Leigh.
:: A 23-year-old from James Road in Bedhampton.
:: A 24-year-old woman from Chichester Avenue in Hayling Island.
:: A 34-year-old from Victory Avenue in Horndean.
:: A 28-year-old from Beaulieu Court in Crombie Close, Cowplain.
Detective Inspector Clair Trueman previously said: ‘The operation was as a result of the takedown of encrypted communications platform EncroChat leading to a massive breakthrough in the fight against serious and organised crime.
‘The arrests show that our activities continue and we will seek opportunities to disrupt organised crime groups operating within the South East region.’
