Islamic Govt to Replace Current Govt in Afghanistan : Taliban
The Taliban have said that an Islamic government will replace the current government in Afghanistan under the incumbent President Ashraf Ghani as a result of peace negotiations.
Citing the US-Taliban peace agreement in Doha on February 29, the Taliban have said that based on the deal, an Islamic government will replace the Ghani govt as a result of the intra-Afghan peace negotiations.
In a press conference following their meeting in the Iranian capital Tehran this week, the Taliban’s delegation said that if the US and NATO forces continue to remain in Afghanistan after May, the Taliban will deserve the right to defend their country.
However, NDS officials said

“Haji Lala had joined the Taliban with the support of Jabar Agha, who is a key member of the Taliban’s central circle,” the NDS official said, adding that after Jabar Agha was sent to Pakistan, Haji Lala was moved to the role of an “acting governor” for Kabul.
The security official also shared a video confession of a detainee identifying himself as Mohammad, son of Haji Enayatullah from Kandahar, serving as the Taliban’s governor for Kabul.
“He was responsible for military missions for five provinces - Kabul, Nangarhar, Parwan, Logar and Wardak. Aside from that he was also conducting chain assassinations, kidnapping and insecurity on the command of senior Taliban leaders,” the security official said.
MPs Divided Over Move To Impeach NDS Chief
The MPs move to impeach the National Directorate of Security, Masoom Stanekzai, last week has sparked sharp criticism by some lawmakers who said signatures gathered over the move had been “collected illegally”.
“Mr Speaker, I hope that this session will not move towards a rift. Review your decision, otherwise this is the house of people and we will not let any ‘bullying’ happen here,” said Mohammad Nazir Ahmadzai, an MP.
“The chiefs committee is trying to include the summoning issue into its agenda instead of discussions on other matters,” MP Mirwais Yasini said.
Probe Team Still Waiting for CCTV Footage of Siawash s Vehicle
A probe team of the Wolesi Jirga (house of representatives) tasked with the investigation of the explosion that hit the car carrying former TOLOnews presenter Yama Siawash on November 7, said on Thursday that officials from the Central Bank of Afghanistan where Siawash was working are still reluctant to provide the CCTV footage of his car.
The task team on Thursday said that members visited the Central Bank office on November 20; however, the bank official refused to provide the CCTV footage and other details including the car tracker to them.
A video obtained by the media shows that the door of the office of the Central Bank s governor was locked when the probe team arrived at the bank.
