Citizens are encouraged to show support for their local police organizations on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Saturday, Jan. 9.
People can show support by sending a card of support and thanks to local police departments, organizing an event or a rally in support of law enforcement officers, placing a blue light in a window or a blue ribbon on their mailbox, or dropping off some baked goods at local police departments and expressing appreciation in person. When people see a police officer, they can remember to thank a police officer.
