Caddo Commissioner Lashes Out at Prator in Controversial Email Dear Sheriff Prator, I hope you are doing well.  I received a report on your reaction and response to the “no vote” on Resolution #6, sponsored by former Commission President Mario Chavez, while vacationing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming last week.  Needless to say, it did disturb me a bit but I can understand how it could have been misinterpreted by you, given your passion for your law enforcement employees. So let me share my position on the matter for whatever it is worth.  Resolution #6, to recognize January 26 as “National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” should have been previously vetted by Mr. Chavez with all Commissioners to determine their support for the measure, just as most are if there has been unrest detected from various members.  I feel it was naive of him but also somewhat political in nature.  Also Commissioner Hopkins has also denied black Democrat Commissioners through resolution by Commiss

She made her comments at the end of Tuesday s village board meeting.   Pinta, who along with her family was instrumental in giving Buffalo Grove its first Pride Parade, said was already involved in successful efforts to get Lake County to fly the flag at the government offices in Waukegan in June.

Meals were purchased from numerous local restaurants. Agencies have reported that this was a tough year with COVID-19 with first responders having to deal with the effects of the pandemic. “Anything we can do to bring attention to our law enforcement agencies ­– and what they and their families sacrifice every day for our communities is worth it,” said Northland Marketing Director Matt Duthler.

Gastonia Police, church celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

A Gastonia congregation spent their Sunday morning worshiping with and getting to know the people who serve and protect them. In observance of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, which was Saturday, Chief Travis Brittain, Capt. Nancy Brogdon and Sgt. Josh Smith visited Eastside Church of the Nazarene during the church’s 11 a.m. service. Brogdon oversees the East District, where Eastside Church is located, and Smith manages the department’s body camera program. Brittain and the 178 officers at Gastonia Police Department put on a polyester uniform, vest and badge when they go to work, but underneath, they’re like anyone else, Brittain told service attendees.

Greencastle police get thank you from Presbyterian Church

Greencastle police get thank you from Presbyterian Church Echo Pilot Police officers serve day and night, 365 days a year, and it is important to thank them for their service, according to Pastor Bob Cook of Greencastle Presbyterian Church. Cook and Debbie Young, mission chair, showed up at the Greencastle Police Department Thursday morning with a basket full of gift cards from Brio Coffeehouse for the police officers and department secretary. The presentation came two days before National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, which was observed Saturday, Jan. 9.
