529 COVID cases from Colombo on Monday (03); Full List of Island-wide cases

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st); A record 1,923 COVID-19 infections were reported from Sri Lanka on Monday (03), said the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on Tuesday (04). 529 COVID-19 cases were reported from the Colombo District and 64 of these cases were detected from Colombo Municipal Council areas and the remaining 465 cases were from other areas in the Colombo District. 60 of those COVID-19 cases were from Piliyandala, 54 cases from Moratuwa, and 47 cases from Boralesgamuwa. (Refer to the attachment below for a complete breakdown). 264 COVID-19 cases were reported from the Kalutara District on Monday (03), while 232 COVID-19 cases were detected from the Gampaha District.

The Kalutara District recorded 158 COVID-19 cases while Galle recorded 138 COVID-19 cases.

Gampaha and Kalutara Districts recorded 145 COVID-19 cases each while 107 infections were reported from the Kurunegala District. COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka hit a record high on Thursday (29) with 1531 cases reported from across the country. “1,491 of these cases were from the New Year Cluster and the rest were those who returned from overseas and tested positive for the coronavirus,” said the NOCPCO.

Over the last few days, Sri Lanka recorded about 800 cases or more a day, taking the total number of cases reported in the island to over one lakh, and the number of fatalities to 644, as of Monday morning. Over 6,000 cases are currently active. The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak reported 892 positive cases on Monday.
