City team up with NHS to bolster mental health support for youngsters in Manchester

City in the Community (CITC) are delighted to announce a brand-new partnership with the NHS to expand its mental health programme for children and young adults in Greater Manchester.
CITC has teamed up with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) to deliver enhanced mental wellbeing support for participants aged 14 to 25, by embedding ‘Manchester Thrive’ into its existing delivery or activity and programmes.
‘Manchester Thrive’ (MThrive) is an NHS led programme which aims to support young people and families to promote good mental health and allow quicker access to the best specialist support to meet their needs where appropriate. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, prevention and the promotion of mental health and wellbeing.

LENEXA, Kan. - May is National Mental Health Awareness month, and a Lenexa recovery center is trying to bring attention to a category of mental illness that has grown drastically worse during the pandemic - eating disorders. The founders of Bellatore Recovery, which treats people for eating disorders, said they have had a spike in calls from people seeking treatment.
A walk in the park supports mental health awareness

Members of the Jewish community on Team Andy who walked in the NAMIWalks Your Way, raising money to support mental illness awareness.
May is National Mental Health Awareness month, and at the end of April, members of the Jewish community participated with about 400 others in a NAMI walk at Crane s Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. The group, Team Andy, was one of 63 teams who came out to show support and help bring awareness to mental illness.
NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness and is the nation s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Township Mayor and Council held a Regular Meeting on May 6 during which the importance of gun violence awareness was addressed, announcements about the township’s Fourth of July Freedom Festival were made and plans and funds for various town wide projects were delineated.
Mayor Mark Forstenhausler commenced the meeting by honoring May 6th as National Nurses Day and sharing a message of gratitude for all Randolph nurses.
The meeting then proceeded into a Public Comments session. The first member of the public to address the council was Leslie Moran who thanked Mayor Forstenhausler for responding to her communications about a Gun Violence Awareness Day Proclamation. Moran emphasized the nonpartisan nature of the proclamation and attributed its inspiration to a number of recent gun violence–related deaths.
