Bengaluru: French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who is on a 3-day visit to India, will be in this tech hub on Thursday (April 15) for promoting bilateral relations in science and technology, an official said on Wednesday (April 14). On his day-long visit to the city, Le Drian will announce the contribution of France to India`s human space flight programme `Gaganyaan` at the human space flight centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the city, said a French consulate official in a statement here.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed ways to speed up discussions on the long-pending India-EU trade and investment agreement and opportunities for collaboration in other sectors in a bilateral meeting on Tuesday.
“In the context of the changes in a Covid-impacted world, both Ministers recognised the immense opportunities for greater collaboration in diverse sectors such as trade and investments, defence and security, health, education, research and innovation, energy and climate change,” as per an official release circulated by the Ministry of External Affairs following the bilateral talks.

Study finds the sanctuary is host to nearly 50 individuals
A recent study on dhole or Asiatic wild dog, an endangered large carnivore, has found that the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (WSS), a major habitat of elephants and tigers, is also host to a good number of dholes.
The first ever study on the carnivore organised by the Wildlife Conservation Society–India, National Centre for Biological Sciences, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, University of Florida, and Stanford University has found that the sanctuary has close to 50 dholes.
