Bird flu outbreak: Dakshina Kannada district authorities ban supply of poultry from Kerala

Mangaluru, Jan 8: In view of the spread of bird flu in Kerala, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has banned the transportation of poultry from the state.

In a notification, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra also directed that vehicles taking poultry from the district to Kerala should be disinfected while re-entering the district after offloading.

Second COVID vaccination dry run across country today
The second nationwide dry run on the Covid 19 vaccination will be held today. The massive mock drill will be held in 736 districts across 33 states and Union Territories.Â
According to the Health Ministry, the objective of dry run is to simulate the actual vaccine administration event. It will ensure efficient planning and management of the immunisation process. The entire planning of the vaccination drive, including beneficiary registration, microplanning and vaccination at the planned session site, will be tested under the leadership of District Collector or District Magistrate.
The dry run will also familiarise the state, district, block and hospital level officers on all aspects of vaccine roll out.Â
On Tuesday, the man was apprehended from central Delhi.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for allegedly posing as a senior bureaucrat and an assistant professor at AIIMS in Delhi to cheat people, police said on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Devendra Kumar Mishra, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, they said.
Mishra was posing as a visiting faculty at AIIMS cardiology department and Army Hospital, Delhi Cantonment, and an advisor in NITI Aayog to cheat the public, a senior officer said. On Tuesday, he was apprehended from central Delhi, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shibesh Singh said.
The Haryana government on Friday declared the area within the radius of one km from two poultry farms in Panchkula district where birds tested avian influenza (H5N8), as "infected zone" and announced culling of 166,128 birds, state .
