Shah delivered Rustamji Memorial Lecture on the occasion. According to a statement issued by the BSF, 27 BSF personnel were awarded which included 14 Police Medals for Gallantry and 13 Police Medals for Meritorious Services. 

Amit Shah performs aarti at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad ahead of Rath Yatra

Highlights Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to his home state Gujarat. New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on early Monday (July 12, 2021) morning performed ‘aarti’ at Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad before the annual Rath Yatra takes off from the temple. Ahmedabad’s Jagannath Temple is all decked up ahead of Rath Yatra. According to an ANI report, heavy security has been deployed outside the temple.  Union Home Minister, who is on a three-day visit to his home state Gujarat, took part in Lord Jagannath s rath yatra in Ahmedabad today and will be hosting several programmes later in the day.

Rath Yatra 2021: Amit Shah at Jaggannath Temple in Ahemdabad New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a three-day visit to Gujarat, fed a temple elephant and also performed aarti at the Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad ahead of the annual rath yatra, which commences today. The 19-km yatra will be taken out amid a curfew in view of the pandemic. Also, authorities plan to complete it in four to five hours as against the usual time of 12 hours. The Minister is seen sitting cross-legged on the floor and performing aarti with other devotees. A smiling Mr Shah is also seen feeding the temple elephant sugarcane and bananas. The elephant, in turn, in seen blessing the Minister and everyone gets ready for a photo-op.
