New Delhi: Chopra Nursing Home, affiliated to Government Medical College Jammu, will start functioning with 100 bed capacity to begin with and two more Oxygen Plants having a capacity of 2400 LPM i.e. 3456 cubic mt will be installed in GMC Jammu which will be in addition to the existing Oxygen plants. At the same time, it will be ensured that the senior Consultants take regular rounds of the Wards and are also available as and when required.
This feedback was given to Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who took a follow-up today of the COVID Care services in GMC Jammu, following a series of deliberations held over the last three to four days in the wake of the COVID surge in Jammu.

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today held a detailed interaction with public activists of his Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency and discussed COVID related issues with them. Prominent leaders, youth representatives and women activists from each of the six districts of the constituency, namely Udhampur, Kathua, Doda, Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar participated. Also present at the meeting were the BJP Party’s District Presidents from the constituency.
During the meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh emphasised that along with Medical and Administrative measures, Community Management of COVID is equally important. “Precaution, not Panic” is the key to fight the pandemic, he said. NEW DELHI/JAMMU, May 12: Union Minister of State(Independent Charge) for DoNER, MoS in Prime Minister’s Office; Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today called for audit of oxygen cylinders and ventilators in the Government Medical College Jammu to ensure equitable distribution for needy patients.
He said, even a single death due to alleged unavailability of Oxygen causes tremendous social unrest and negates all the other good work done if any. A confidence building message has to go out loud and clear that a premier institution like GMC Jammu will ensure that not a single death occurs on account of Oxygen unavailability, he added.
