Jammu: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today had a detailed review of functioning of Industries and Commerce Department in an officers meeting held here today to work out multi-pronged strategies towards further strengthening of ‘Investment Ecosystem’ in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Director Industries Kashmir and other officers participated online from Kashmir while officers Director Industries and Commerce Jammu, Managing Director J&K Trade Promotion Organisation, Managing Director SIDCO, Managing Director SICOP and other officers from the department attended the meeting here at Jammu.
Advisor exhorted upon the officers to prioritize the aspirations of the entrepreneurs while putting in concerted efforts for making J&K the most investor friendly Union Territory. He said that strenuous efforts have to be made at all levels to encourage and facilitate people who want to join the wagon of industria

JAMMU, Apr 23: Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal today expressed serious concern over the failure of the Government to overcome the acute shortage of doctors in the rural areas of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir even after repeated directions during the past three years.
Moreover, the highest court has sought to know what steps have been initiated by the Health and Medical Education Department so far or being contemplated so as to check reluctance on the part of freshly recruited doctors in providing services in the rural parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

‘Kupwara first to have oxygen generating plant functional’
Srinagar, Apr 21 (KNO): With the resurgence of COVID-19 cases across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have ordered the setup of oxygen generation plants to ensure there is no crisis and people from remote areas in the northern belt aren’t made to suffer for want of oxygen.
North Kashmir alone has a total of 1562 active cases as on Tuesday and has reported 316 deaths with the highest figures of positivity and fatality in the Baramulla district alone.
The patients requiring a high flow of oxygen from twin districts of Bandipora and Kupwara were referred to either Srinagar or Baramulla.
