Baltic Partnerships: Integration, Growth and Local Governance in the Baltic Sea Region Published by the OECD Local Economic and Employment Development (LEED) Programme The Baltic Sea Region is rapidly becoming one of the world’s more competitive regions. The region is capitalising on its strengths and making the most of its diversity to stimulate innovation, build a strong pool of skilled labour and foster entrepreneurship. A deep spirit of co-operation and integration has led the Baltic Sea countries to set up ambitious governance frameworks to pursue economic development objectives jointly from Oslo to St. Petersburg. Yet major challenges at the local level lie ahead for the Eastern shores of the Baltic, where economic transition still needs to be accompanied by more innovative strategic planning, new forms of governance and dynamic civic entrepreneurship. Building Our Skills – make a difference, make a pledge and commit to inspiring the future Building Our Skills – Making Fenestration A Career of Choice (BOS) has embarked on a recruitment drive with a difference ‘ highlighting the need for the industry to come together and eliminate its ever-growing skills gap’. Continuing to build on its key objective, heighten awareness of the Fenestration industry to new and young people, the organisation is encouraging individuals from the industry’s community to make a pledge by signing up and committing to its ‘Inspiring The Future’ campaign . The campaign, which focuses on recruiting volunteers from within the Fenestration sector is supported by FENSA, and will highlight the work of many of its existing campaign supporters over several social media channels, whilst looking for new recruits.

Kraft paper crumples on weak demand due to second Covid wave April 21, 2021 Prices down 10 per cent in the last one month The second wave of the Covid pandemic has pulled down prices of Kraft paper, used in the packaging industry, by 10 per cent in last one month due to a sharp fall in demand. The sector was limping back to normalcy after the onslaught of the pandemic last year. In fact, demand and prices started picking up in the second half of last year as the consumer goods industry focused on packaging, with concern on cleanliness taking centre stage. However, the demand for kraft paper started weakening from late last month and prices started declining across the board.
