Pascal Mudzikisi Masvingo businessman Pascal Mudzikisi who contested as an independent candidate against Minister Davis Marapira for the Masvingo North parliamentary seat in the 2018 general election, has now rejoined Zanu-PF, TellZim can report. He says he has always been a member of Zanu-PF whose principles and values are rooted in the party, and had never really left it. Mudzikisi appeared at a Masvingo Provincial Coordinating Committee PCC) meeting held at Great Zimbabwe University’s (GZU) Robert Mugabe School of Education on Sunday, May 02, where he was formally introduced into the party. He was welcomed together with former MDC stalwarts Tongai Matutu, Dr William Zivenge and former Senator James Makore by Zanu-PF secretary for science and technology in the politburo Christopher Mutsvangwa and the provincial leadership of the party.

By James Muonwa, Mashonaland West Correspondent CHINHOYI University of Technology (CUT) has kick started the legal process to allow the learning institution establish a campus radio station, a development set to transform the media landscape in the gold mining and farming town. In a public notice, CUT confirmed it had applied for a campus radio services licence. “Take notice that the applicant, Chinhoyi University of Technology, has applied for a Broadcasting Services Licence in terms of Section 10 of the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (Chapter 12:06),” reads part of the notice. Contacted by NewZimbabwe.com, the university’s public relations director, Musekiwa Tapera confirmed the development, but could not be drawn to discuss the intricate details of the impending project.

He’s accused of stealing 150 chickens from the college’s caretaker. The caretaker and her family were away attending a funeral when Manyanga allegedly broke into their home and stole the chickens. According to AfricaPress.net, the angry caretaker reported the theft to the police, who visited the scene of the alleged crime and took statements, pictures, and videos as part of their evidence. Masvingo police spokesman Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said investigations into the alleged offence were underway.

Zim State Varsity Employees Plan Strike Over Poor Wages

By Mbekezeli Ncube ZIMBABWE State university staff has written to its employer informing the latter of its intention to go on strike in the next two weeks. The workers, speaking under the umbrella Zimbabwe State Universities Joint Council (ZSUJC), said in their letter that they were earning poor wages and were incapacitated. ZSUJC is made up of the Zimbabwe Universities and Allied Workers Union (ZUAWU) as well as the Zimbabwe State Universities Union of Academics (ZISUUA). The letter was directed to chairpersons of Zimbabwe State Universities’ Councils and copied to Zimbabwe State Universities’ Vice Chancellors, Zimbabwe State Universities’ Registrars and the Public Service ministry.
