The weather across the country is causing delays in the administration of coronavirus vaccines in the Fox Cities this week. The city of Appleton Health Department says no first doses will be given at the Fox Cities Expo Center this week due to short supply. Only appointments for second doses will be honored. The city of Menasha Health Department is also postponing all coronavirus vaccinations this week. The vaccination center at U-W Oshkosh is contacting those with appointments directly to reschedule.

Appleton officials hope to provide two-thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine at the Fox Cities Expo Center next week. That would be double the numbers of shots dispensed this week. Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht tells the Appleton City Council those appointment will go to some of the 47-hundred who thought they had signed up for shots this week–but had been accidentally overbooked. One concern for next week is the forecast for dangerous wind chills. Eggebrecht says every effort will be made to keep people from having to wait outside for their vaccination appointments.
