Testing sites are preparing for longer lines.
Last week, Hartford HealthCare did approximately 28,000 tests. They are anticipating a higher volume this week.
Community Health Center is also ready to test more people after doing an average of 4,000 a day last week. Testing is great, but remember, testing is a result at one point in time, said Bieluch.
Bieluch said people should not rely on testing to give them a sense of security ahead of any New Year s Eve celebrations. Someone could be negative today and go out for New Year s and infect other people unknowingly, said Bieluch. If you can at all avoid socializing with people outside your household, please do so.
Vaccinations will continue to be distributed with the police department, tribal elders, tribal council, tribal community and Foxwoods Resort Casino team members in the coming weeks and months.

MASHANTUCKET, CT The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation kicked off its distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations with fire department members receiving the Moderna vaccine Monday. The tribal nation is focused on vaccinating the entire Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino staff, beginning with first responders and those at the most risk, according to a statement.

Day Kimball Healthcare names November employee of the month

April Chitwood, physical therapist and clinical supervisor in the physical medicine and rehabilitation department at the Day Kimball Healthcare Center in Putnam, has been named employee of the month for November.
Chitwood, who has been in the physical medicine field for 28 years, began working as a physical therapist at the Day Kimball Healthcare Center in Danielson and Day Kimball HomeCare in 2008.
In her current role as clinical supervisor for the physical medicine and rehabilitation department, Chitwood is responsible for supporting and mentoring clinical and clerical staff, in addition to providing direct patient care.
