Nicklin MP backs community against service station proposal

Updated plans for a controversial service station at the corner of Stevens and Farrell streets, Yandina. He also encouraged residents to comment on the application via council s website, where there have been more than 200 written submissions against the proposal. Community groups, including the Yandina and District Community Association and the Yandina Chamber of Commerce, oppose the development. Their reasons include concerns for traffic congestion and safety, pedestrian safety and the overall negative impact on the town s heritage. The groups say the town does need a second service station, however, not in the proposed site which is surrounded by character buildings.
