Political tactics on road safety fail to satisfy angry mum

Jocelyn Anderson started a petition as a last-ditch effort to improve safety in what she says is a life or death situation in the small hinterland town. So far, Ms Anderson s petition has amassed 1198 signatures. Updated plans for a controversial service station at the corner of Stevens and Farrell streets, Yandina. He also encouraged residents to comment on the application via council s website, where there have been more than 200 written submissions against the proposal. Community groups, including the Yandina and District Community Association and the Yandina Chamber of Commerce, oppose the development. Mr Powell said while there had been modifications to the site, there was one big issue stopping a permanent solution. There has been minor modifications around stop signs and sight lines made but we kept getting told that the full solution needed to wait until the rail duplication project came through, Mr Powell said. The reason we were told that was the rail line would be shifted and would remove it from that area where the intersection is.
