Jenna Arcidiacono, the chef and co-owner of Amore Trattoria Italiana in Comstock Park, was picked by the Grand Rapids Business Journal as a 2020 Newsmaker of the Year.

Amid the garbage fire that was 2020, a plucky local celebrity chef used her platform to lead the way in helping others across West Michigan while also working to reinvent her own business during a year that required flexibility and creativity for restaurants to survive.
For her generosity, leadership and advocacy for the restaurant industry in its worst year in living memory, Jenna Arcidiacono chef and co-owner of Amore Trattoria Italiana in Comstock Park is the Business Journal’s 2020 overall Newsmaker of the Year, as well as Newsmaker of the Year in the food category.

Toronto police are giving more details about a murder from October that happened near Bathurst and Ranee Avenue in the city’s Lawrence Manor neighbourhood.
On October 7, 2020, 33-year-old Shane Shannon Stanford was shot and killed as he sat in his Acura Sedan near Bathurst and Highway 401.
At a news conference on Monday, homicide detective Michael McGinn said a motive has not yet been determined by investigators.
“I can say that Shane himself was not targeted specifically as an individual,” McGinn said.
