EDITOR S NOTE: Monmouth County COVID-19 totals will now be posted every week going forward.
Monmouth County reported another 1,871 cases of COVID-19 and an additional 56 deaths from the novel coronavirus over the last week, officials said.
That figure represents a decline from the more than 2,600 new cases reported in the county the previous week and matches a general decrease in cases in New Jersey and across the country.
The death toll, which typically lags behind surges in new cases and hospitalizations, grew more last week compared to the prior week.
