Lieutenant Governor Visits Benton Harbor School

March 8, 2021 Students at Fair Plain East Elementary in Benton Harbor were paid a visit by Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist on Monday. He was there with the MDOT plow “Tiger,” which was named by students at the school as part of MDOT’s “Name MI Snowplow” program. Students in Roxane Gilbert’s fifth grade class chose the name after considering several possibilities. Student La’Var Crayton was glad to see the plow. “We were the only class ion the school, in the district, like in all the schools in Benton Harbor, Michigan that ever did this,” Crayton said. “So it was pretty cool seeing our name on there with the Tiger and the truck and everything.”
