Since departing WWE early last year, former Divas Champion Maria Kanellis has made waves in the pro wrestling industry by joining Ring of Honor’s Board of Directors. While she has an executive role, Maria emphasized she’s just as much of a fan of the ROH product as anyone else.
Speaking with Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman on the
Wrestling Inc. Daily, Maria mentioned she’s a big supporter of a popular ROH star.
“Danhausen is my favorite wrestler,” Maria said. “Since I’ve returned to Ring of Honor from WWE, he has been my favorite wrestler. I find his whole schtick amazing. To see that he was now tweeted by The Rock, it’s amazing. It’s hilarious. I follow everything this guy does because he’s my favorite, so then seeing The Rock tweet him today I was like, ‘Oh my God. This is hilarious. ”

The Wrestling Inc. Daily. Drake made his AEW debut on the February 17 episode of
Dark, and Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman asked Drake how that came about and what his AEW status is.
“I’m actually in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina playing in a slow-pitch softball tournament. I was actually in bed that night,” Drake recalled. “It was about 1:30 in the morning. I wake up, check my phone and I have a text. ‘Hey, are you available to do AEW?’ I was like, ‘Yes, absolutely I am.’ I had sent an email in November, maybe October, just sending my resume in, and I got a text message because I left my telephone number and email asking me if I was available. I told them, ‘Yes.’ They said, ‘Good, we’ll see you next Wednesday,’ and they sent me all the information.
Triller Fight Club and MLW broadcaster Ray Flores was on today’s episode of
The Wrestling Inc. Daily. Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman and Flores discussed Triller’s big Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight, and Hausman asked Flores if there is any interest in seeing former WWE Champion CM Punk in a Triller Fight Club ring. It was reported last summer that Punk is still following protocols for UFC’s drug testing policy.
“I think if CM Punk wants to do it, I think that Triller would absolutely be open to it because he’s still a big name,” Flores noted. “I mean now the fans are coming back. You go to arenas all over the world and you still hear chants of CM Punk in different wrestling arenas all over.

The Wrestling Inc. Daily to discuss the current state of the WWE.
Savinovich pointed out that WWE has been more profitable during the pandemic since the company no longer tours for live events.
“WWE dominates wrestling because they’re the No. 1 company in the world,” said Savinovich. “However, if you closely study the product, you’re gonna realize that they actually are making more money now with the Thunderdome because they were not drawing on the road. It was embarrassing. They were not drawing for Raw or SmackDown. They were actually losing money. Now, they have one building where they do two shows and NXT in a smaller building, and all their shows are making money.”
