Below the Radar: Making America Safe and Secure Act of 2019
United States – -(AmmoLand.com)- From now on, when an anti-Second Amendment extremist says they want to “regulate” something, you can take it to the bank that what they really want is a ban. One prime example of this is legislation introduced by Senator Robert Menendez and Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman.
The legislation is the Help Empower Americans to Respond Act of 2021, also known as S 1131 and HR 2544. This legislation was also introduced in the 116th Congress. However, the reintroduction of this legislation is a chance to have a good discussion on two aspects of our Second Amendment advocacy.

On May 21
st, the Senate voted to pass Assembly Bill 286, to end the centuries old practice of making firearms for personal use. It now goes back to the Assembly for concurrence and could be voted on as soon as today.

On May 22
nd, the Senate Judiciary Committee heard, and voted to pass, Senate Bill 452 with an amendment, to expand gun-free zones where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless. The bill advanced despite overwhelming opposition testimony from a broad coalition of groups including NRA, ACLU Nevada, Nevada Firearms Coalition, the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN), law enforcement groups, and many others. SB 452 will soon be eligible for a vote on the Senate floor.
