Workers across the UK, including in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, have benefited from increased support via the furlough scheme. The programme, also known as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), has seen workers be able to claim a percentage of their wages while not being able to work throughout the pandemic. The furlough scheme was initially extended until December 2 by Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, but as is evident, it is still ongoing.
