Mon, 05/24/2021 - 4:00pm Addison Wallace Ames, Sr. VINALHAVEN Addison Wallace Ames, Sr., peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, December 24, 2020, after a period of declining health. Born in Vinalhaven on June 11, 1934, he was the son of Clyde and Ruth (Young) Ames. He grew up in the Old Harbor area and attended local schools. On April 8, 1953, he married Donna Amy Woodcock, also of Vinalhaven. Addison, also known as “Sonny” or “Harve,” was a lobsterman, starting from an early age. He also worked with his family when his sons established the Ames Brothers Forestry Service. Most important to him was spending time with family, which included many cookouts at the family wharf on Old Harbor and celebrating birthdays and holidays, Christmas being his favorite. He loved animals, especially the several golden retrievers that were part of the family over the years, and he gave them all much love and attention. “Harve” enjoyed trips to the mainland with f

HOPE Joy Diane Gould Brown, 83, formerly of Hope, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Long Term Care - Glenridge. Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Joy was born on June 15, 1937, in Belfast, and was the daughter of Lucius and Mildred (Bessey) Gould. Joy graduated from Crosby High School, Class of 1955. After graduating, Joy worked as a telephone operator and throughout the years, she enjoyed a variety of other careers; a clerk in the Kennebec District Court, cashier at a supermarket, elementary school cook, girls summer camp cook. After marrying Alan Brown in 1978, together they owned and operated a school bus service for the Hope school district.

Landwehr, 31, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 5, 2021 at his beloved family camp in Appleton.   Born in Rockport on May 28, 1989, Ryan was the son of Peter and Julie (Drinkwater) Landwehr. Ryan grew up in Appleton, eventually moving to Camden. He had participated in Appleton Little League, was a member of the Boy Scout Troop 203, and was a 2007 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School.
