It s time again for one of the more unique raffles and fundraisers in Lubbock. Casas for CASA is back this year and hoping to raise a ton of money to make up for the losses from last year during the coronavirus pandemic.
Casas for CASA is hosted by CASA of the South Plains and United Supermarkets Market Street located at 98th and Quaker. The raffle will take place from June 1st through Wednesday, June 30 so there is plenty of time purchase tickets.
According to the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services, there was an increase of more than 2,000 kids entering foster care in the last year.

Brittany Burcham, from Birmingham, Alabama, has taken to TikTok to share the reality of being an emergency foster parent to teenagers.
Through her TikTok account, @fostertheteens, Burcham documents her routines, tips and experiences looking after teens in the foster care system, to an audience of over 500,000 followers.
Burcham has been emergency fostering since October 2019, and is regularly a port of call for children in between foster homes sometimes for just one night, but often longer. According to her videos, Burcham tends to foster teen girls due to a huge need for it in her area, along with an experience with a previous Court Appointed Special Advocate child who opened her eyes to how incredible working with teenagers can be. Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained volunteers who help vulnerable children through court cases.
