PASIR GUDANG, May 4 The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has successfully crippled a syndicate that misappropriated subsidised cooking oil worth about RM15 million within a six-month period.
The ministry’s Putrajaya Enforcement (Operations) deputy director Shamsul Nizam Khalil said the syndicate’s tactics were uncovered during a pre-dawn raid at an industrial premise in Taman Pasir Putih here early today.

I booked a holiday on the Greek island of Rhodes with Mark Warner for my wife and me and my two daughters and their families to celebrate a special birthday. It cost £14,384 and I paid in full on February 29 last year.
Later in the year, when it became clear that international holiday travel would not be permitted, I was persuaded by the company to reschedule for May 29 2021 rather than have a refund. To be as flexible and helpful as I could, I agreed.
About 65 pc more wheat procured during current Rabi season ANI | Updated: May 04, 2021 23:31 IST
New Delhi [India], May 4 (ANI): The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on Tuesday informed that about 65 per cent more wheat procured during the current Rabi marketing season (RMS) in comparison to the corresponding period last year.
Procurement of wheat in ongoing RMS 2021-22 is continuing smoothly in the procuring states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar at minimum support price (MSP), as was done in previous seasons, and till now (upto May 3) a quantity of over 299.16 lakh metric tonne (LMT) of wheat has been procured against the last year corresponding purchase of 181.37 LMT.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the surge in infection, farmers have been working on their fields. They have even taken the crop to mandis which had to operate with health and hygiene protocols in place. And since the beginning of the current procuring season, a total of 292.52 LMT of wheat has been procured as of May 2, Sunday.
Food Corporation of India data indicates that Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are likely to meet the estimated target of procurement of wheat.
