Motorists are facing delays of at least 50 minutes after a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 this afternoon (April 23).
Traffic is being held in the clockwise direction between Junction 24 (Potters Bar) and Junction 25 (Enfield) after the collision, which was first reported at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
Traffic on the motorway has been held since around 2.50pm, with Highways England warning of significant delays.

Part of the A160 has closed after a lorry overturned near South Killingholme.
The lorry is stuck on its side on the Habrough roundabout, with Lincolnshire Police and Highways England Traffic Officers at the scene.
The A160 in North Lincolnshire is subsequently closed westbound between the A1173 and A180 near South Killingholme.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area where possible.
A Highways England spokesperson said: “Road users are advised to follow the solid black triangle diversion symbol. At Manby roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A1173 eastbound until the junction with the A180 (Stallingborough Junction).
1/1 The driver of a van was airlifted to hospital from the M25 motorway near Chertsey this afternoon (Monday, March 8) after a serious crash brought a large response from the emergency services. The collision forced a temporary closure of the M25 in the area between J11 Chertsey Interchange (Woking A320, Chertsey A317) and J12 Thorpe Interchange, prompting long delays for motorists on Monday afternoon. Images posted online showed the front section of a van crumpled in the collision with emergency service workers attending. Surrey Police said that the driver of one of the two vans involved had been airlifted to hospital after he was cut free from the wreckage.
