Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado, held several traditional titles before ascending the throne. He was the Dan Majen Kano and District Head of Dala in 1990, a position he was given by his late father, Ado Bayero. He was promoted to the position of Dan Buram, the same year. In 1992, he was again promoted to the position of Turakin Kano, then to the position of Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida in 2000. Emir Aminu Ado also served as the chairman of the Kano Emirate Durbar Committee in 2014. He was also promoted to the position of Wamban Kano by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and transferred from Dala to Kano municipal, where he succeeded late Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim, as district head.
