LOS ANGELES (AP) â Two Los Angeles County firefighters could be fired and a third suspended after some first responders took and shared graphic photos from the site of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, his teenage daughter and seven others, court documents say.
The court documents were filed Monday as part of widow Vanessa Bryantâs federal lawsuit against Los Angeles County that alleges invasion of privacy. The filings propose that a Nov. 16 trial be postponed five months to April 27, 2022, because of a large amount of material that attorneys need to review.
Kobe Bryant and the others were killed Jan. 26, 2020, when the helicopter they were aboard crashed west of Los Angeles. Federal safety officials blamed pilot error for the wreck that killed the basketball star, whom Michael Jordan will present for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday.

The San Antonio Spurs have announced celebration activities leading up to Tim Duncan’s induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 15. Former teammate and Hall of Famer David Robinson will present Duncan for his enshrinement in Uncasville, Connecticut. The local Texas activities give fans an opportunity to show their support for Duncan in San Antonio and Austin while he is honored among his peers.
Duncan helped lead the Spurs to five championships and the NBA Playoffs in each of his 19 seasons with the team after being selected by San Antonio with the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. A two-time MVP and three-time Finals MVP, Duncan was named to 15 All-NBA Teams, 15 All-Defensive Teams and 15 NBA All-Star Games. Duncan is one of two players in NBA history to record at least 26,000 points, 15,000 rebounds and 3,000 blocks in his career (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), as well as the only player in league history to reach 1,000 care

Rudy Tomjanovich is one of only three coaches to win an NBA title and an Olympic gold medal.
Rudy Tomjanovich had gotten so used to the “Sorry, maybe next year” phone calls from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, he almost looked forward to the “silver lining” of hearing from disappointed family, friends, even strangers. “It’s humbling,” he said of people’s support.
Now Tomjanovich will have to find other reasons to stay connected, with his inclusion as a coach in the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 to be enshrined May 14-15.

Fires, Homelessness and a Growing Crisis
As the number of tents, makeshift shelters and campers on Los Angeles streets has surged, so has the scourge of fire. In the three years since the Los Angeles Fire Department began classifying them,
fires related to homelessness have nearly tripled. In the first quarter of 2021, they occurred at a rate of 24 a day, making up 54% of all fires the department responded to.
Many of the fires are limited to dumpsters and piles of trash, and the most common outcome is the destruction of tents or other shelter. A few have been costly and tragic. Seven homeless people died in fires in 2020. Fires starting in camps lined beside businesses have caused tens of millions of dollars in damage, according to the Fire Department.
