Angry mob vandalises Hindu temple, sets it ablaze in Pak s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Geeta Mohan
An angry mob vandalised a Hindu temple and set it on fire on Wednesday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa s Karak district in Pakistan.
The incident took place in Terri village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa s Karak district, District Police Officer Irfan Marwat said.
The incident took place hours after a rally by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) which was held nearby wherein speakers reportedly delivered fiery speeches which charged crowd that later stormed the temple, set it ablaze and razed it to the ground.

CM orders authority concerned to take action against deforestation

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the Forest Department to crack down on the timber mafia involved in the illegal cutting of forests across the province.
“The concerned authority must take effective action against illegal deforestation in some parts of the province,” he said while presiding over a cabinet meeting at the CM House on Monday.
The provincial chief executive also ordered a crackdown against illegal mining activities and requested the Minerals and Mining Department to prevent it at all costs. “Stern action must be taken for curbing the illegal extraction of sand and gravel from the rivers in Swat before submitting a report.”

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Working Development Party (PWDP) on Monday approved the 360-Kilometer Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs276 billion. Two tunnels including Dara Adamkhel of 5.6 km long and Banda Daud Shah of 1.6 km long would also be built under the project.
The motorway project would connect southern and merged districts with the provincial capital, reducing heavy traffic on the Indus Highway. The interchanges would facilitate people of Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had approved the project a few days back after a meeting with the elected representatives from the southern districts.

As the country marked the sixth anniversary of the Peshawar Army Public School (APS) carnage on Wednesday, politicians – both from government and opposition – paid homage to the families that suffered in the heinous 2016 attack in which 131 school children and 10 others lost their lives.
The attack had shocked the entire nation as terrorists stormed inside the school and fired at children who were attending classes at the time.
Recalling the incident, President Dr Arif Alvi said it had brought the nation to tears. These flowers laid their lives & brought focus of the nation to suppress terrorism with all its might. I thank them, he said.
