Green Island voters OK school project Dec. 15, 2020 FacebookTwitterEmail GREEN ISLAND In a nearly unanimous vote, Green Island Union Free School District residents approved a $1.6 million improvement project Tuesday. The 52-2 vote allows the district to move ahead on a project that includes health and safety improvements and restorations to the building that will reduce future maintenance needs. The capital project will provide no tax increase to the Green Island taxpayers, according to the district. Highlights of the project, the district said, include: Build a playground on the school grounds  Two areas: One suited for PreK-grade 1; Another for grades 2 and older
