Friday Morning COVID-19 Update
Two COVID-19 associated deaths were reported Thursday (January 28) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 236. There were 97 new cases reported Thursday, increasing the overall total to 15,289. 106 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Burke County Public Health reported two virus-associated deaths Thursday, increasing the total to 115. One individual was in their 60s and one was in their 80s and both were hospitalized. 96 new cases were reported Thursday, raising the total to 8,515. There were 19 people hospitalized with COVID-19.
Four coronavirus-related deaths were reported Thursday in Caldwell County, lifting the total to 113. Two patients were between the ages of 65 and 74, and two were over the age of 75. All four patients were reported to have underlying health conditions. 38 new cases were confirmed Thursday, increasing the total to 7,903. There were 34 people hospitalized.

Two COVID-19-associated deaths were reported Thursday (January 21) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 223. 129 new coronavirus cases were reported Thursday in Catawba County for a total of 14,410. 104 people were hospitalized with the virus in Catawba County.
Burke County Public Health reported four additional COVID-19-related fatalities Thursday, increasing the total to 109. The individuals were in their 70s and 80s and all four were hospitalized. 49 new cases of the virus were reported, increasing the total to 8,074. There were 27 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Burke County.
The Caldwell County Health Department confirmed three COVID-19-related deaths Thursday, lifting the total to 95. Two patients were over the age of 75, and the other was between the ages of 25 and 49. All three patients were hospitalized and reported to have underlying health conditions.
