Tuesday Morning COVID-19 Update
No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported by Catawba County Public Health over the weekend, the total remained at 297. There have been no virus-related fatalities reported in Catawba County since April 7. 40 new cases of the coronavirus were reported between Friday (April 16) and Monday (April 19), increasing the total to 18,228. Hospitalizations remained at seven, the same total as the last update.
Three coronavirus-associated deaths were reported by Burke County Public Health, increasing the total to 154 since the start of the pandemic. The individuals were in their 60s, 70s, and 80s and were all hospitalized. 13 new cases of the virus were reported Monday, raising the total to 9,911. There were ten people hospitalized.

COVID-19 hospitalizations remained in the single digits according to Friday’s (April 16) update from Catawba County Public Health. The total remained at seven, the same as Thursday’s (April 15) update. 31 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Friday, increasing the total to 18,188, with 297 deaths. There have been zero coronavirus-associated deaths reported in Catawba County since April 7.
Burke County Public Health reported the county’s 151st COVID-19-related death Friday (April 16). The individual was in their 80s and was not hospitalized. 25 new cases of the virus were reported Friday, increasing the total to 9,898. There were nine people hospitalized. 26 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Friday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 9,122, with 145 deaths. There were two people hospitalized. Five new cases of the virus were reported in Alexander County, raising the total to 4,265, with 85 deaths.

18 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last update, which was issued Friday (April 9) by Catawba County Public Health. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is 18,008. There were no new coronavirus-related deaths reported, and 18 people were hospitalized.
Zero new cases were reported in Caldwell County Friday, leaving the total at 9,041, with 142 deaths. Hospitalizations dropped to five. Burke County Public Health Friday reported the county’s 150th virus-related death. The individual was in their 60s and was hospitalized. Health officials in Burke County reported 9,825 cases overall, and there were six people hospitalized.

Catawba County Public Health once again reported no COVID-19-related deaths Tuesday (March 9), leaving the total at 288. 21 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Catawba County, increasing the overall total to 17,307. There were 22 people hospitalized with the virus.
Burke County Public Health reported that there were zero COVID-19 hospitalizations in the county. 19 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Tuesday in Burke County, lifting the total to 9,511, with 146 deaths. Six new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Alexander County Tuesday, increasing the total to 3,963, with 84 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized.
