PCAF announces Paulus-Iler Scholarship recipients Tuesday, May 11, 2021 4:39 PM
PAULDING – Virginia Paulus, a long-time supporter and former board of
director of the Paulding County Area Foundation funded a scholarship
administered by the Paulding County Area Foundation which is available
to university/college students entering their junior year or third year
of studies at an Ohio university/college.
The scholarship was
designed by Paulus to help students who graduated from Paulding High
School. The 2021 awardees include Jaret Miller, attending the University
of Findlay majoring in Early Childhood Education and Sydney Price,
attending Bowling Green State University majoring in Inclusive Early
Childhood Education.

Galion fifth grader selected to Safety Patrol Hall of Fame
GALION – Galion Intermediate School fifth grade student Bella Alberty has been named to the American Automobile Association (AAA) Safety Patrol Hall of Fame for the 2020-2021 school year.
Safety Patrol adviser Adam Lehman, who also is the media specialist at the Intermediate School, learned of the Hall of Fame after finding AAA brochures from years prior.
The Galion Safety Patrol consists of 12 fifth-grade students from the Intermediate School and helps students cross streets on the Galion campus safely. Students must be recommended by their fourth grade teacher in order to be considered for the program.
University of Findlay awarded funds for Choose Ohio First STEMM Scholarship
FINDLAY The University of Findlay will receive funds for a new Choose Ohio First (COF) STEMM scholarship for students in computer science, pharmacy, health professions, environmental safety, adolescent/young adult (AYA) math or science, and biology programs.
Nearly $70 million will be awarded to COF programs to support an estimated 6,400 students at 57 Ohio colleges and universities. According to the Ohio Department of Higher Education, this scholarship “will boost Ohio’s efforts to strengthen the state’s workforce in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”
Scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2021 and may provide students up to $8,000 per academic year for four-year programs. Recipients must be Ohio residents or graduates of Ohio high schools, enrolled in an eligible program, and meet additional academic requirements defined by the University.
