Meanwhile, allegations swirl about that some judges were allegedly bribed by the CR17 campaign.

Wikimedia Commons A student leader in the Free State has threatened to mobilise and shut down all activities at the University of the Free State (UFS) on Friday, ahead of the court appearance of 24 arrested students at the Bloemfontein Magistrate s Court on Friday. The former UFS Student Representative Council (SRC) president, Asive Dlanjwa, vowed to even mobilise support from community members to shut down the varsity. 

Police arrest 24 students at Free State university protest

Bloemfontein police arrested 24 students during protest action at the University of the Free State (UFS) on Thursday. Public Order Police Unit officers were deployed to the entrance of the university on Thursday morning, following complaints that students were protesting and blocking the road.  On their arrival, police assessed the situation, where a group of about 50 students were blocking the crossing at the main entrance in Nelson Mandela Road,  police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said. They were accordingly warned and given time to clear the road.
