American Rescue Plan showers Pioneer Valley colleges with millions Published: 5/13/2021 7:54:35 PM HOLYOKE Area colleges and universities in Hampshire County and Holyoke are in line to receive millions of dollars in emergency funding from the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill signed into law in early March. Holyoke Community College will receive $13.3 million in funding, while Mount Holyoke was allocated $3.9 million to address the financial impacts of COVID-19 on students and institutions. U.S. Rep. Richard Neal announced the funding as part of a total of almost $90 million in assistance to 13 western Massachusetts colleges and universities in the 1st Congressional District on Monday.

Class of 2021: St Thomas Aquinas High School honors top 10 students

Rosabella Daraoui, Co-Valedictorian Rosabella is the daughter of George and Mona Daraoui of Rochester, New Hampshire. She is the younger sister of Karen, 21, and Jennifer, 19, both of whom are graduates of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She is also the proud older sister of Charbel, 10. Rosabella attended middle school at St. Elizabeth Seton School and is a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Rochester. Rosabella is a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. While at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she earned the Yale Book Award and the English Department Award (junior year), the Math Department Award (sophomore year), the French Department Award and Le Grand Concours Bronze Award (freshman year), and Le Grand Concours Honorable Mention (sophomore, junior, and senior years).
