The World Bank has approved the provision of $153 million to support the ongoing national vaccine drive in Pakistan in a bid to help the country fight the pandemic, a statement from the institution said Thursday.
With an estimated 70% to 80% of Harford County Public Schools employees receiving vaccines against COVID-19, as well as continued efforts to prevent the spread of the disease through wearing masks and other measures, there is a clear path toward returning to full-time, in-person school operations by next year.
Harford County Public Schools students 16 and older will have the option of getting a vaccine against COVID-19 as of next week, with clinics happening at local high schools between May 10 and 18.

Jo Anne Thomson, MN, RN-BC, CPXP, as vice president of patient experience.
Thomson comes to UM UCH after 21 years at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, also a University of Maryland Medical System hospital. For the past six years she served as director of patient experience, where she expanded the role to include strategic direction, leadership and regional oversight for improving the patient experience.
She implemented a comprehensive service excellence approach called HEART that focused on several areas including team building and supporting and sustaining a culture of caring and accountability. Thomson also led “best practice” initiatives such as rounding, bedside shift report, employee recognition, service recovery and discharge. In addition, she leveraged technology to support and enhance patient experience in such areas as interpretative services and connecting patients and familie
