As we ve come to expect, the judging for Design Expo 2021 was very close, but the official results are in. More than 1,000 students in Enterprise and Senior Design showcased their hard work on April 15 at Michigan Tech’s second-ever, fully virtual Design Expo.
Teams competed for cash awards totaling nearly $4,000. Judges for the event included corporate representatives, community members and Michigan Tech staff and faculty. The College of Engineering and the Pavlis Honors College announced the award winners below on April 15, just after the competition. Congratulations and a huge thanks to all the teams for a very successful Design Expo 2021.

KINGSTON, R.I.–April 19, 2021 Meade Stadium, home to University of Rhode Island football, will play a starring role, and the show couldn t go on without URI Health Services. The Inner Space Center at URI s Graduate School of Oceanography will play a critical supporting role and so will the Custodial Services team.
As it has for the last year and a half during the COVID-19 pandemic, the University is relying on its ingenuity, expertise and teamwork to give the class of 2021 memorable, in-person commencement ceremonies that start Friday, May 21, and end Sunday, May 23, at Meade Stadium.

All participating graduates will dress in traditional regalia, have their names announced, cross the stage and have professional photographs taken. To maintain the health and safety of the URI community, in-person celebrations will be limited to graduates only.

Design Expo, the annual Enterprise and Senior Design project showcase that puts our undergraduate student innovators and their corporate and faculty sponsors front and center, is Thursday, April 15. We are diligently preparing for and excited to welcome back a time-honored tradition at Carolina Spring Commencement in Kenan Stadium. As we previously announced, we will host multiple ticketed, in-person ceremonies, May 14-16, for students who have registered to attend.
