Each has impeccable qualifications, brings fresh ideas and, most importantly, is devoted to public service. Weâre lucky to have such brilliant minds willing to serve the public, Gov.-elect Cox said in a statement Monday.

Craig Buttars, Cache County Executive, who will be nominated to lead Utah s Department of Agriculture & Food.
Sanpete Co. Sheriff Brian Nielson, who has been named director of Utah s Department of Corrections.

Dark Skies Ripe For Jupiter And Saturn Viewing
Monday marked a historic event in the cosmos the first time in 800 years that Saturn and Jupiter aligned in the night sky. And for this unique moment in the universe, Utahns may have a better view than most due to its dark skies. Any Utahn with a clear view of the horizon should be able to take advantage of the state’s skies to watch the event, according to Rodger Fry, director of the Salt Lake Astronomical Society’s observatory at Stansbury Park. All you have to do is look to the southwest after sunset between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. roughly 25 degrees above the horizon.

Swinburne researcher honoured for services to multicultural communities
Associate Professor at the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science, Dr Stephane Shepherd, has been named recipient of the 2020 Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in Justice by the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
The award recognises the achievements of people and organisations that promote or improve access for multicultural communities to the justice system.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs the Honourable Ros Spence presented the award.
“Dr Shepherd is a researcher who explores the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals in the justice system through a variety of novel approaches and working experiences with multicultural communities and people in custody. His research has made a direct contribution to many government commissions, reviews and inquiries on the justice system,” says Minister Spence.
