attendance on the biometric system over concerns that it could end up spreading COVID-19.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (
PCMC) banned the practice at all their headquarters and ward offices. Industries also follow the norms. Instead, all the employees were asked to mark their attendance in the attendance register (as done prior to the launch of the biometric system) during this time. Many chose the new practice to mark the attendance through video calls too.

MUMBAI: On a day the Covid-19 death toll crossed 70,000 in the state, new cases dropped below 60,000 for the first time in five days on Sunday. The government update said 56,647 new cases and 669 deaths were registered in the morning, with the daily death count having dropped below 700 after two days.
