Michael Dyer jailed on first-degree murder charges in Peoria death

PEORIA A Decatur man was accused Wednesday of first-degree murder in the North Peoria death of a tree-service owner. Michael S. Dyer, 58, was being held in the Macon County Jail on unrelated charges when he was implicated last week in the homicide of Jeffrey Blevins. The body of the 49-year-old Blevins was found Friday morning in a recreational vehicle parked in the 8300 block of North Knoxville Avenue in Peoria. Blevins resided in East Peoria, according to a Facebook profile. Peoria detectives interviewed Dyer in jail Friday in Decatur. Over the ensuing days, Peoria police gathered additional information and evidence, according to spokeswoman Amy Dotson.

Suspect Arrested In Connection With Peoria Man s Murder

The Peoria Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Jeffrey Blevins. Michael Dyer, 58, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder on Tuesday in Decatur, where he was being held in the Macon County Jail on unrelated charges. Blevins was found dead in a vehicle in the 8300 block of North Knoxville last Friday. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said he was shot once in his upper body, likely dying instantly. Arrest made in Peoria homicide investigation

Peoria, IL, USA 104.9 The Wolf (Peoria Co. Jail) PEORIA, Ill. Peoria Police have arrested 58-year-old Michael Dyer in connection with the death of Jeffrey Blevins, whose body was found inside an RV on January 22 in the 8300 block of N. Knoxville Avenue. On Friday, January 22, Detectives with Peoria Police Criminal Investigations Division located Dyer in Decatur, Illinois where he was in custody in the Macon County Jail for unrelated offenses. Dyer was interviewed by Peoria Police as a person of interest. “Over the course of the next several days, investigators gathered information and evidence which led to the arrest of Dyer for First Degree Murder,” said Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
