PEORIA, Ill. The Peoria City/County Health Department (PCCHD) Tuesday reported hospitalizations in the tri-county due to COVID-19 have dropped by 21 in the last 24 hours.
On Monday, 65 patients were in area hospitals with the virus. On Tuesday, that number was down to 44.
ICU beds in use saw a decrease of three, while non-ICU beds in use decreased by 18.

Overall, 40 new cases were reported Tuesday by PCCHD. 15 new cases were reported in Tazewell County, 14 new cases were reported in Peoria County, and 11 new cases were reported in Woodford County.

PEORIA, Ill. Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties each suffered COVID-related deaths over the weekend that contributed to Monday’s Peoria City/County Health Department report.
Tazewell saw a man and woman, both in their 80s, succumb to the virus.
In Peoria County, a woman in her 20s who had underlying conditions passed away, as did a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s, and one in her 80s.
A Woodford County woman in her 60s died, and so did a man in his 80s, and a man and woman who were both in their 90s.
While the death count was high, the new positive case count for the entire weekend was noticeably low, with only 57 new cases throughout the tri-county.

PEORIA, Ill. The Peoria City/County Health Department (PCCHD) Friday reported three fewer patients are in area hospital beds due to COVID-19 compared to Thursday.
One fewer person occupies an ICU bed, while two fewer people are in non-ICU beds in the tri-county area.
Hospitalizations continue to decrease, along with hospitalizations in Region 2, over the last couple weeks.
Just two weeks ago, 120 patients were in area hospitals with the virus compared to the 56 reported Friday.
PCCHD Friday also reported two additional area deaths. One was a Peoria County male in his 70s, while a Woodford County female in her 70s also succumbed to the virus.
