Authorities are investigating the shooting death of 36-year-old Adilson Neves of New Bedford, Massachusetts

A man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in New Bedford, Massachusetts, according to authorities.
Police responded around 3:15 p.m. after a shooting was reported on David Street, the Bristol County District Attorney s Office said. A male victim, identified as 36-year-old Adilson Neves of New Bedford, was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

NEW BEDFORD A 4-month-old infant died in New Bedford on Wednesday, the Bristol County District Attorney s Office confirmed.
The mother called 911 at around 2 p.m. after noticing dark discoloration on the infant s lips, said Gregg Miliote, a spokesperson for the district attorney, in an email.
Police officers and paramedics found the mother holding the infant and attempting chest compressions. The infant was rushed to St. Luke s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 2:30 p.m.
The cause of death remains unknown as of Thursday and an investigation into the incident by the district attorney s office is ongoing.
New Bedford City Councilor Hugh Dunn is now facing potential criminal charges in relation to his May 1 multi-vehicle crash in downtown New Bedford.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, which was conducting an independent investigation of the incident, said today that an application for a criminal complaint has been made this afternoon to the Clerk Magistrate in New Bedford District Court charging Dunn with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, leaving the scene of property damage, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Dunn has also been issued a citation for several motor vehicle-related offenses, the D.A.’s Office said.

If the district clerk magistrate finds probable cause for the offenses, Dunn will be formally charged with leaving the scene and driving while under the influence.
