Sky News host Peter Gleeson says the national vaccine rollout's timeline was "not the issue" in Queensland, but rather the Queensland health department's own response has left "serious questions" to answer.
The remarks come after Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles said the state wouldn’t be facing risks if the Morrison government engaged with the state about the construction of a national quarantine facility.
“We should have never ever been in a situation where a lockdown was happening," Mr Gleeson told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“The haphazard way in which the Queensland health department vaccinated wardsmen, pharmacists before doctors and nurses who were on the frontline treating COVID patients is an absolute national scandal.”
“The focus has been whether or not the vaccine rollout has been timely and has been expedient – well that’s not the issue here in Queensland.
