WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department on Wednesday released surveillance photos of three suspects wanted in connection with a shooting on Metting Road last week that left one person injured.
On Friday, Jan. 22, officers responded to the 3600 block of Metting Road near Spring Avenue, in the area of Market North Apartments, after receiving a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 9:26 p.m.
The victim, 23-year-old Omar Mosley, was shot multiple times and taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was last listed in stable condition.
Douglas Elton ‘Doug’ Keen
WILMINGTON Douglas Elton “Doug” Keen, 79, peacefully passed away into the arms of the Lord Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Wilson, the son of Elton and Eula Keen. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Keen; and sisters, Joyce Kennedy and Carolyn Mize.
Doug is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; and two sons, Kevin Keen, along with his wife, Genia, and Keith Keen. In addition, he was very proud to be “Grandpa” to his two grandsons, Slade and Layton. Along with all of these were several nieces, nephews and more friends than any man could be fortunate enough to have.

SOUTHEASTERN NC Over the past week, North Carolina is reporting Covid-19 cases at 718,812 and 8,695 deaths, with a 10.5% daily positive rate among those being tested. Though the overall numbers continue to rise, the seven-day average for new cases dropped from 8,711 on Jan. 11 to 6,199 on Jan. 18. The death average over seven days also went down, from 91 on Jan. 11 to 71 on Jan. 18.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department is investigating after a woman was found shot following at home invasion on Dawson Street Sunday night.
According to a police department spokesperson, paramedics were dispatched to the 1000 block of Dawson Street around 7:40 p.m. for an unknown medical issue. Officers responded along with EMS personnel and discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment, where she is currently listed in stable condition.
