Girl, 6, boy, 16, man shot during block party in Fort Lauderdale, police say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 6-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and a man were injured in a Sunday night shooting during a block party in Fort Lauderdale, police said on Monday.
According to Detective Ali Adamson, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the shooting was about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday outside of Tony’s Market at 800 NW 22 Rd.
Detectives believe several shooters fired more than 50 rounds from semi-automatic rifles and handguns. As a result of the gunfire, ShotSpotter technology issued several alerts, police said.
An adult man who was wounded in the incident was also treated and released.
The shooting happened just outside the Tony s Market convenience store. Video from the scene showed at least 95 evidence markers on the ground, the front door of the store shattered.
Investigators were at the scene taking photos of the damage and bullet holes in at least one car.
Witnesses said the girl was at the store with her aunt when multiple people started firing weapons outside, hitting her with a stray bullet in the arm.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
