Mass Vaccination Under Way at Mo State Fairgrounds
A mass vaccination team has been assigned to each of Missouri s nine Highway Patrol regions.
In partnership with MONG and DHSS, Bothwell Regional Health Center in communication with Pettis County Health Center is holding an in-person mass vaccination site on Jan. 28, 29 and 30 at the MO-AG Theatre on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.
All available appointments are being filled by people who have preregistered, and about 2,200 people are expected to be vaccinated at this event. No walk-in appointments will be available.
Currently, Missouri is vaccinating Phase1A populations and 1B Tier 1 and 2 populations. The Pfizer vaccine will be given at this mass vaccination site. Pfizer’s vaccine was approved for those age 16 and older. It is not recommended for individuals who have experienced a serious reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) to a prior dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or to any of its components. For information on vaccine compo

With coronavirus vaccine clinics being held across Mid-Missouri on Friday, some are having to wait in long lines to get their shots.
In Mexico, about 1,000 cars were lined up for a vaccination event at the Mexico Memorial Airport. Area residents were waiting to receive one of the 2,500 vaccine doses available. They did not have to register for a shot.
Trying to Get A COVID Vaccine in Johnson County is Messy
I don t know but there s got to be a better way to sign up to get vaccinated than how Johnson County Community Health Services is doing it.
For the first vaccination clinic Johnson County Community Health Services sent out an email to those who had taken their COVID-19 survey. I saw it about 20 minutes after it arrived in my in box. By the time I clicked my way to the vaccine sign up page all the slots were gone.
JCCHS they tried something different with sign ups yesterday. I got an alert with a link from Johnson County Emergency Management Agency s RAVE alert system telling me I could sign up for COVID vaccination clinic on Friday. Easy, right? Click the link, sign up, and I m good to go. Yeah, not so much.
Covid-19 vaccine is scheduled to arrive in Pettis County this week for individuals who are in the designated categories. The Phase 1A category was for Health Care Workers and Individuals in Long Term Care facilities. As announced by the Governor, we are moving to the 1B Category Tier 1 and Tier 2. This group includes First Responders, Emergency Services Personnel, Emergency Management, Public Works and other identified individuals who maintain our community. Tier 2 includes anyone aged 65 and older and adults between 18 and 64 with the following health conditions – cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies, immunocompromised state, severe obesity (BMI over 40) pregnancy, sickle cell disease or diabetes.
