Natural gas prices spiked during the deep freeze around Valentine s Day. Many utility companies are now assessing how much to raise rates in order to recover the unexpected demand.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado â Cost adjustments began Thursday for Colorado Springs Utilities customers. The rate adjustment on natural gas is temporary and will help to make up for the spike in natural gas prices in mid February as frigid cold weather hit many states. An average residential customer can expect to pay roughly $22 more on their gas bills per month.

Pikes Peak United Way uniting community during pandemic

COLORADO SPRINGS â The pandemic has shown us that the community coming together can make a big difference for those in need. Now that we re coming up on one year since the pandemic started, coming together to make change is exactly what one local organization has strongly believed in.
Pikes Peak United Way partners with other local organizations to help thousands of people in the community, but their efforts looked much different the past year. The organization expanded their services and helped out in about a dozen new ways since the pandemic began.
Millions of people across the country are still thawing out from bitterly cold temperatures. While most of the nation experienced the cold weather, people in Texas were hit especially hard.
