The Ministries of Public Security of Vietnam and China convened their seventh meeting on crime prevention and fight in Hanoi on February 19 under the co-chair of Minister of Public Security General To Lam and his Chinese counterpart Zhao Kezhi.

The meeting is an important event in bilateral ties, which helps promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in the field of national security, crime prevention and combat and protection of social order and safety.
Former Politburo member, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee and
Hanoi (VNA) - The Central Committee of the
Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the National Assembly, the President, the
Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)
issued a
special announcement on the death of former Politburo member, former
Secretary of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Prime Minister
Truong Vinh Trong.
Comrade Truong Vinh Trong (also known as Hai Nghia) was born on
November 11, 1942, in Binh Hoa commune, Giong Trom district, the Mekong Delta
province of Ben Tre. He resided in Giong Trom district’s Luong Quoi commune.

Hanoi (VNA) – Ambassadors from G77 and China to
the United Nations (UN) in Geneva had an online meeting with Isabelle Durant, new
Acting Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD),
to exchange their viewpoints and show their priorities and expectations to the
UNCTAD ahead of its 15th session, slated
for October in Barbados.
Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Vietnamese mission in Geneva extended congratulations to Durant, expressing her belief that she will drive the UNCTAD to new success.
Vietnam supports priorities given by Durant in promoting more inclusive and greener international trade through the greater concentration on socio-economic aspects such as social equality, human rights protection and the sustainability of the environment.

Vietnamese armed forces hold rehearsal in preparation for 13th National Party Congress

As many as 6,000 officers under Vietnam’s ministries of Defence and Public Security on January 10 took part in a rehearsal held at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium Square to test preparedness in dealing with different security incident scenarios ahead of the 13th National Party Congress (January 25-February 2).
In his remarks, Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong stressed the importance of the congress and praised the achievements, proactiveness and efforts by the armed forces in upholding security for the congress, asking them to absolutely not let their guard down.

The organisers also
presented two second prizes, three third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes at a
ceremony held in Hanoi on December 29.

to the country, according to Colonel Ngo Anh Thu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Quan doi Nhan dan newspaper.
